Northern Lights in Tromso | My first time lapse

All right guys, this is my first ever time lapse project featuring the aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.

I spent few days in Tromso, Norway earlier in February chasing the aurora borealis (a.k.a. Northern Lights) and was amazed in particularly with one location in a small village called Ersfjordbotn, known by many as “The Fjord of Light”.

Over 1100 images were used in this project. The image sequences were shot in 3 different nights and I also included 2 sequences from the city of Tromso viewed from Mount Storsteinen on Fløya, 421 meters above the sea. I tried to reproduce the Northern Lights here with their real speed, as close as possible of how I’ve seen it.

A big thanks to Per Wollen, a talented musician from Tromsø who made the soundtrack specially for this project. It is definitely worth turning up the volume to enjoy this magnificent soundtrack. Many thanks Per!

A special thanks goes to Carolina who always supports me and my cousin Eduardo for the company in the field.

Hope you guys enjoy!
